Schmidt Luxury Homes

The ZERO
Energy ADVANTAGE

Examplery Living:

Owning a ZEH is so blatently superior to owning a standard home, especially economically, that the comparison borders on the ridiculous. The current market conditions make this a ripe field for investment. The rising energy costs versus the huge strides made within the green power generation and green engineering communities not only make the (ZEH) home a reality, but have created homes that sell their excess Green energy, back to the utilities. Another condition that favorably impacts the investment possibilities is that a great percentage of our population is unaware that ZEH’s even exist, let alone that they are available to the high end buyer.

Additional ZEH Benefits:

  • Little or no electrical bills
  • Little or no gas bills
  • Credit from the electric company for excess power produced
  • Satisfaction of contributing to a cleaner environment
  • Basically the same cost as a non-ZEH
  • Never face a blackout with upgraded power supply back-up
  • Enjoying the satisfaction of knowing you live in the most environmentally and economically sophisticated home available
  • Government approval, tax credits and rebates
  • Endless hot water supply
  • Qualify for a Energy Efficient Mortgage (EEM)

Solar Electric Systems Consist of Five Basic Parts.

First, the sun. With today's solar technology, sunny days and even cloudy days produce more than enough sun to be harvested by our solar electric system.

Second, the power producing mechanism. This consists of the solar electric roof shingles that contain embedded multiple solar cells. Each cell will produces power when exposed to sunlight. The manufacturing process is similar to that used to make computer chips. Today's solar technology electricity is perfected, highly efficient and incredibly reliable.

Third, the electrical inverter. Solar cells produce Direct Current (DC). The electrical inverter converts this to the Alternating Current (AC) used by appliances and lighting fixtures. The inverter is housed in an attractive cabinet and can be mounted inside the home (typically in the basement) or on an outside wall.

Fourth, the wiring to your homes power system. This will be connected to the load center (circuit breaker box or electrical panel) of your home.

Fifth, excess power produced by your solar electric system will be sent back to the utility company.
